I ran in to Joe who works at The Good Hood in Hoxton and did a little interview and style profile.
For those that don’t know, what is The Goodhood?
The Goodhood Store is an independent boutique located in Hoxton, East London. We offer a tight, harmonious selection of brands for both men and women, bringing together some of the most exciting wares from all over the world. Combined with the unique aesthetic interior, the store has a truly special identity and a level of quality that is rarely seen outside of Japan. Also, in 2011 we opened a gallery space across the road from the store, playing host to exhibitions and special product launches.
How would you describe your style?
Prep by way of Japan.
What are you working on right now?
This coming September The Goodhood Store is celebrating it’s 5th Anniversary and we have some very, very special things in the pipeline. Unfortunately I can’t say too much more than that right now!
What do you think is next in streetwear culture?
I think streetwear hype has definitely had its day. I think people will continue to invest even more in quality products that they know will last. More and more people like to know the history of their clothes and more so what they are buying into. This is an area where brands such as Visvim continue to pioneer.
What is your advice to those who are trying to succeed in a creative industry?
Be proactive. Leave tumblr alone for a minute and just do something. Always remember that there is nothing wrong with starting at the very bottom and most importantly learn your shit! Knowledge reigns supreme.
